It can be an effective tool in certain circumstance's .....I used to do a demonstration at Drill using it on an 1 3/4" Line with a 1 1/2" to a 2 1/2 " Increaser....
To get a good visual example of the coverage extend an Aerial out somewhat horizontally & drop it off between the top two rungs ( & as in use )
lower it until it hits the floor or stock / (ground for drill ) then raise it halfway back up & charge it ....the 1 3/4 Line is readily available & sufficient to cover a compartmented area like a room in a dwelling cellar area or a small Commercial. ...Generally (as in the books) a Backup Line should be in place.
