Chicago, the birthplace of the snorkel has none of its 54' Rosenbauer units in service. 3 out of the 4 units are OOS. Squad 7 @ O'Hare still has theirs but that is a FAA purchase

There is a podcast called “Chicagos bravest stories” and one of the guys on the podcast tells a story about how Quinn approached his grandfather who besides working for CFD drove a cherry picker when he stopped off for a “pop” at a firehouse. Quinn asked him if he was on the job and when he said yes, Quinn ordered him to headquarters to go pick up the Snorkle from the manufacture and put him on FMS “flying manpower squad” when it went into service.
