When are they going to educate the people responsible for giving radio reports. This is a block of 2 1/2 story balloon frame pvt dwellings. They are separated by 10 ft driveways, which means the exposures are SIMILAR, detached and not "alleys"

You are right an exposure in the FDNY less than 20 feet from the fire building IS an Exposure. An exposure more than 20 feet away IS an exposure when the potential for fire spread is such and an exposure 20 feet or more is endangered by the amount of fire or heat. Just a note a Conflagration is a Fire extends and crosses natural or manmade barriers. If a groups of buildings in a factory or other complex all belonging to the same owner, occupancy all or most burn it is a "Group. Fire" Once again if the fire jumps a Street (Manmade Barrier) or a River "Natural Barrier" it is by definition a "Conflagration". The last one in the FDNY that comes to mind was the "Breazy Point, Rockaway Queens during Hurricane Sandy" That fire was the largest fire involving, just residential buildings in recent NY City History. HERE ARE SOME CONFLAGRATION FDNY PHOTOS BELOW I was at all of these fires eather working or Buffing.
