Not sure how they operate. I would assume one or possibly 2 of the engines are for RIT like how Boston does it.

Yes, one of those engines is the RIT team. The standard first alarm response for a stucture fire is 4 engines, 4th due engine being the RIT, 2 trucks MAC unit and batt chief.
