Newport News FD Marine Incident Response Team (MIRT) RESCUE-JAMES RIVER NNFD Marine-2 was dispatched last night for a victim in the water off of the James River Fishing Pier.
Bystanders and NNPD threw a life ring from the pier to victim and held onto rope to keep the tide from taking the victim away.
NNFD Marine-2 arrived on scene and managed to get the victim out of the river and into the boat without injury

Capt. Veitz, SFM Parrish, FFM Garrett and FFM Roché.
