2025 All Hands Runs and Workers

Question regarding the Rescues, has SOC or FDNY admin reduced the number of boxes the Rescues respond to on the box/initial alarm? Using Rescue 2 as an example, in years past they responded to between 3000 and 4000 runs whereas in 2025 it was around 2200. If anything I thought the move to Sterling Place would increase the number of runs.

PS to all of you who work on the monthly and yearly numbers a big THANK YOU!

R2,3,4 don’t respond to reported pins only R1,5 do. On the confirmation of pin the rescues will
Respond

Because 98% of the reported “pins “ are not pins at all. They tried to get UCT to fix the issue but no luck. Just a waste of time and diesel !
With this logic they can amend a lot of other responses. A single truck response will suffice for the typical "Lockout food on the stove" call 99% (or 100%) of the time, or make it a 10-18 response at best.

I won't ever complain, but will still find it hard to understand the rationale of why the hundreds of smoking contents of a pot on a stove I've responded to qualified as a "structural worker.":unsure:

Because we are getting credit for the work we do, no matter how routine. NYPD takes their marks for everything historically and we sometimes tend to downplay ours. This has been to our detriment as we lost a couple of Command Authorities in ICS to them
