They are for special events and operations that require extreme shallow draft. They have portable pumps on board but they replaced boats from Sandy so if they have flooded streets these boats could be used like for Breezy Point and are more sturdier. Besides these new boats which I believe same in around Feb 25’ they have the new Marine “Command” Battalion Boat and they had 3 new safe boats before that. I believe they are refurbing some of the older 2013 safer boats. Gonna be very busy very soon.
