    The Ventures/Days of Doo Wop

Definitely not doo-wop but a great entertainer and song writer passed away on August 20th. Tom T. Hall had many hits on the country charts as well as cross-overs to the pop charts. He was the writer of Jeannie C. Reilly's "Harper Valley PTA." Thanks Tom for the music and the memories. Rest In...

    TIME TO DUMP SOME HUMPS.

The only place he's running is to some deserted island with his old lady who has that billion or so that she "knows nothing about." Two real upstanding role model pieces of (You pick the word.)

    TIME TO DUMP SOME HUMPS.

You just can't make this (Insert words of choice) up! Let's reward the mutts nationwide that make living in fear a daily ritual of the decent, law abiding citizens of this once great land. Other Countries must be laughing themselves silly. What a disgrace which grows more each day.

FDNY Chief Officer Cars and Vehicles

How I cringe every time I see FDNY photos from the '39 Worlds Fair. My dad had a box of photos of the rigs that were there and some of himself, in uniform, on an Ahrens-Fox pumper. When he passed away I asked my mom where are pop's photos? She responded quickly with "I threw that junk out along...

    FDNY EMS Station and Units

Previously I mentioned "making the nights go by quickly", well one night I was working an 0100x0900 on a unit out of Metropolitan Hospital which was Station 15 at the time and now Battalion 10. It was winter, January or February, and it was one of those nights that the temp was at about 5 below...

    FDNY COMPUTER ASSISTED DISPATCH SYSTEM

Nothing will ever outdo the expertise of the dispatch personnel who knew every street within their borough, knew the status of the companies within their borough and had foresight to plan ahead with incoming alarms. No computers, no wizardry, just common sense and great knowledge. Those were the...

    FDNY EMS Station and Units

Thanks Willie. In retrospect, it made the nights go quicker having all that "fun."

    FDNY EMS Station and Units

Lebby, from the little that I read in the newspaper that contract is nothing but a "Here's a cookie kid, now go away." The City finally got caught with that 37.5 hour week nonsense which was really forty and we never got paid for. How about the no night diff on overtime? Did they rectify that? I...

    I'll say 289, 287, 307, 138, 136 and the 46.

    8/6/21 BRONX 10-80 HAZMAT INCIDENT BOX 3193

Yes it is. From what I had heard through the channels years ago when 75/33/19's new quarters were built the old place on Jerome Avenue was to be condemned because of it's condition. Oh wait...let EMS use it. They won't know the difference. And so it stands, with some renovation, Station 19.

    FDNY Mand Library

Thanks 1261, I believe you are correct.

    FDNY Mand Library

I forget what Manhattan company Paul was in prior to his going to the library. He lived near us and my dad knew him from the Manhattan days.

    FDNY Mand Library

I'm sure there are members of this site that remember when the Mand Library was located within "Red Square" in Long Island City. Yes, that building that housed the "Fire College" aka the training school and still currently Fleet Services aka the Shops. Way, way back in time.

    8/2/21 Brooklyn 3rd Alarm Box 2353

That address seems familiar. There's probably been a few multiples at that particular scrap yard.

    TIME TO DUMP SOME HUMPS.

Our liberal hipster society is partially to blame for this. DON'T let the Police do their job to enforce the laws. DON'T let Judges do their job by incarcerating violent offenders. This society is just so liberal that people can do what they want, when they want and how they want with no fear of...
