    In Brooklyn during the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s I always heard the aerial referred to as “the aerial” or “the ladder” (I still do to this day). It wasn’t until I moved to Texas in the early 90’s that I heard the aerial called “the stick”. That was new (and alien) to me.

    I hope the guys are all okay. Magnolia F D has a great bunch of firefighters and officers out there. They really stepped up for us (i.e. the Porter F D) when we lost a member LODD in 2003. My thoughts and prayers are with them.

    Talk to and listen to the men that worked in Brownsville, East New York, South Bronx, Harlem, etc. The running was there and the work was there. Dropped and/or lost run tickets, JTO's edicts and the CO's being overwhelmed all contributed to a scenario where we don't know what the "true numbers"...
