    6/11/23 Bronx 5th Alarm Box 3071

Wow, That’s over 20% of the engines and about 25% of the ladders. Including the Safety, Haz-Mat & Marine Battalions, there are 52 battalions on-duty… 50% of the battalions were involved. A couple other thoughts: With it being a high intensity, extended operation, I wonder if a Division Chief...

    6/10/23 Manhattan 3rd Alarm Box 775

Watching the videos is fascinating. I really don’t care about seeing the flames as much I like watching operations at the command post, water supply, rehab, etc. No matter which borough it’s in, the set up is always the same and consistent. I see many of the same faces. I wish I had these...

    FDNY assistance to Canada

The Incident Management Team may not be directing the firefighting activities in another country, however they are more than capable of filling the roles in Planning, Logistics, & Finance/Administration. Some of it really doesn’t have a lot to do with firefighting such as “we need to feed, house...

Is Roxbury FD (vollies) still in business? ALSO: It makes sense after looking at the map, but I didn’t realize that was E284/Sat3, Rescue 2, & Squad 252 area. I‘m almost surprised it isn’t covered by DIV 15.

That’s not FDNY EMS. Witch hospital is that based out of?

6/6/23 Bronx Maritime Emergency Box 4557

It is uncanny how often over the last couple of years that E70 or L53 are not in quarters for some type of fire or emergency, due to one of the four conditions that Signal73 listed. But when you think of it, probably on any given day from 9 am to 9 pm there are probably a dozen companies around...

    Special Units Relocating

You make some good points, however, I think (not know) that dispatch would go through the IC and not the company officer. After all, it would/should be the IC that releases any piece. Getting away from that particular day, I would like to think that the fire service in general espouses...

    Spencer, MA - Church Fire - 6/2/23

I was listening and it sounds like mutual aid from Connecticut got involved. That’s about 15+ miles away. Is that usual practice ?

6/2/23 Queens All Hands Box 1043

I know that arrival order is respected within the FDNY… or at least that’s what it appears to be from reading this board. Does anyone know when E264 & E328 are sent to the same box if the first due engine, by the runcards, leaves first? I only ask because sometimes one crew may be ready to go...

    6/3/23 WTC Drill ?

I wonder if it’s an on premise drill for the building which the fire department observes?

6/1/23 Bronx All Hands Box 3171

bxengine: A question for you. Many firehouses in New York don’t have a lot of room outside of quarters. I think of Engine 65! Where I worked, covering units would stay at the firehouse while the crew cleaned up and got back in service. Does this happen with the FDNY? If so, where do they move...

6/1/23 Bronx All Hands Box 3171

It probably is accurate. It was 30 minutes from when Battalion 18 gave the All-Hands until the fire was Under Control. When the All Hands is given with a request for an extra engine and truck, dispatchers need to start back-filling. At the time, the dispatchers had no idea if the fire would last...

    5/26/2023 Queens 2nd Alarm Box 7957

Cool video! I laughed at the firefighter who gave a little wave to the ladder when it was leaving quarters 😂. I’m thinking there was an early shift change because there were quite a few guys remaining back. No other units assigned to that station. 🤔
