    Hurricane Debby Response

The Fl TF have been in standby since before the storm so they got the call first. Then looking at the storms track, NY may have been on or near the track so there leaving them for NY and the surrounding areas. If I had to guess there probably not far from getting a call to go somewhere.

8/1/24 Queens Box ???? Water Rescue (Delayed Post)

Pretty much what Raybrag said. Basically it's a bag with lightweight line somewhere between 50 and 100 feet long that floats and is a bright color. Depending on who makes it, it's sometimes attached to a life ring or something similar, Usually there's a loop you put your wrist thru, and throw...

    7/31/24 Queens 2nd Alarm 10-77 Box 1319

Makes zero sense to me either. When the units get dispatched, together, 285 and 142 are still going to end up in front of 225 and 107. The only possible reason I can see, is that individually, sending 225/107 before 285/142 is to keep the relocations down. With 285 and 142 in qtrs, they can...

    7/31/24 Queens 2nd Alarm 10-77 Box 1319

331/173 has an odd response area to begin with. Forgetting the area is made from bedrock, they have a relatively small first due, and an even smaller 2nd due. They seem to see more fire in other areas compared to their own. But that's just my observation.

    7/31/24 Queens 2nd Alarm 10-77 Box 1319

I'm curious about something. In order in Howard Beach to Cross Bay and 165 Ave, it's 331, 285, 225. How does that switch when they run to the Rockaways to 331 225 and 285? Just seems strange. Noticed that several times now so it's not a 1 off event.
