    Collapse Rescue

Anyone know the reason for 4-door cabs? Are they planning that if needed these could be stand alone units and not always be used with the parent company?

Fleet Friday FDNY SPECIAL UNIT COMPARTMENTS

Any reason why they are getting rid of them? Is the equipment they have not needed anymore or will it be transferred to other units?

12/2/23 No More 5 Man Engines

I understand that. My post was for clarity as almost everywhere else counts the officer so I was just commenting for some who might not be familiar that FDNY does not count the officer. An FDNY 4-person engine is a 5-person engine everywhere else.

12/2/23 No More 5 Man Engines

AFAIK the “5” man engine companies only refers to firefighters and not the officer. So the companies are going from 6 on the rig to 5 on the rig. Not 5 to 4. Just for clarity

    10/24/23 Brooklyn 2nd Alarm Box 5800

This might be a dumb question but is the Satellite not automatic on the second alarm? Or is the communications office given the leeway to not dispatch it since it is for a power outage?

    SOC Support Trucks

I’m sure they might save some money on training too With the reduction in units is there a reduction in service? Meaning do they not respond to some things they used to be assigned on?

    SOC Support Trucks

I thought for some reason that L-79 on SI was also a SSL. Am I incorrect?

    SUPER PUMPER 1

My guess is those pumps could be placed in the river or body of water and pump to the super pumper who then relay pumps to satellites or tower ladders. Not all incidents will be right next to the water like this one was.
