Marlboro’s “open air” hallways are a HUGE ASSET to fire operations. Two floors of fire in a high rise in the middle of the night in a regular project - things would have been a little different perhaps.
Probably will hold in 20 minutes. Quick 3 length stretches and clear hallways.

Large wildfires in the States usually have an IMT of some sorts assigned to it. FDNY has an IMT which could easily be deployed- however ICS may be either non existent on Canada or completely different
There was another job on 66th street near L-172 in the middle of the night which they may have been at also - that would be 3 jobs in 3 different boroughs for the night
Absolutely - but they have an enormous response area. They go in a circular radius to the outskirts of Sunset Park, Midwood/Flatbush, and all the way down to Coney Island.

There’s a theory that the ECC of a South Bronx Engine that day led a convoy of Bronx companies in a direction (UNINTENTIONALLY) which put them at the site after both collapses, thus likely saving the lives of all those brothers!
