Ladder 2’s Facebook page reported the truck was abandoned in the street between the buildings, photos showed the truck covered in ash and such, no immediate damage noted.

Watched the same video, I see how busy “9’s” is but it is interesting to see they have 2 engines, a ladder, 4 ambulances and a Fast response unit. That’s crazy to have 8 companies in the house.

One of the local sign companies posted on their social media, this truck was originally Ladder 8, and was just changed last week to Ladder 4.

Does anyone know how long the tillers are? Curious over the years if and how much they have changed? Never seeing any next to each other. Unsure if the 2013 are the same as the early 2000’s and late 1980’s are. Thanks

I work in Ma, OEMS still requires these on ambulances.

I’m curious as to what these solar panels are powering? Is the thought with EMS being on the street solar power into and inverter so the truck doesn’t have to idle?

Just found the spec sheets, 200” wheel base and 38’ 7” from ladder tip to back of truck.

At this point the size of tillers vs the size of these metros seam like they are probabaly just as easily driven around.

I’m a huge fan of the Gettin Salty series, by far one of the best episodes they’ve ever had. Learned tons about the squads.

I’d say you have to remember the weight difference. I’m not FDNY but my 95’ tower ladder is just about 81,000lbs. Unsure id want to be doing 75mph in that.
