9/11/25 Manhattan All Hands Box 0432

Truly amazing how much the area changed in the late 90's. I started working down there in 95 and we were in squatter buildings daily. By 97 everything was transformed and young women were walking their dogs in Tompkins Square Park.

9/11/25 Manhattan All Hands Box 0432

I knew about the make up of the area with rear tenements and projects along with OLT and NLT. I worked in the area as a paramedic in the 90's and early 2000's. At the time I worked there I did not realize that E5 St had burned down and was rebuilt with those 3 story rows. I thought they had...

It's been a while since I was in Alphabet City. Were there 5 and 6 story tenements where the 3 story brick row houses are? Did they all burn in the 70's and 80's?

Hazle Township, Luzerne County PA, Commercial Structure Box 9/4/25

Wow! 141 failed to respond? They're one of the most squared away departments in that area. Surprised to see they failed on a first due fire.

Are their respective 89's changed to the Rescue company's firehouse and they respond when the rescue responds?

    9/3/25 Manhattan 10-77 Box 1446

Thanks. Did the gamewell system print out a tape the dispatcher could refer to or was it all counting the box coming in?

    9/3/25 Manhattan 10-77 Box 1446

Does 5 box circuits running simultaneously mean 5 boxes out at the same exact time across the city?

    8/31/25 Brooklyn 2nd Alarm Box 1439

Surprised 240 is so far down in the run down. I thought they'd be 3rd or 4th due, but I guess again being stuck in between the cemetery and the park bumps them.

8/28/25 Staten Island All Hands Box 3922

Does an oil fire in a hole at Port Mobile not get the HazMat matrix at least started that way?

Indiana Pl is almost as small as Indiana Ave in 286/135 first due.

    7/22/25 Manhattan All Hands 10-77 Box 0234

I know that's what they do regularly. I worked EMS in that area for quite a few years. My question was about what the computer generated responses recognized as the closest units.

    7/28/25 Queens 4th Alarm Box 4225

Hopefully not too much damage to Matsons. One of my favorite delis in the neighborhood.

    7/25/25 Queens 10-75 Box 450

Are these buildings accessed off the platform or a separate set of stairs from the street? It's hard to tell from the pics and video but the building doesn't appear to be attached to the platform.

    Good news for NY Firefighters

I haven't worked EMS in NYC over 20 years. Does this law now mean that Lieutenants and Captains on the EMS side will have aides to drive them?

    7/22/25 Manhattan All Hands 10-77 Box 0234

Just curious, does BARB take one way streets into account? If 15/18 do not make a right out of quarters and either go around the block or take Delancey to the FDR then 9/6 would get in first every time.

    7/20/25 Manhattan 10-77 Box 290

Should be a 28/11 first due box and that must be a typo about B10 giving 10-77

NYS Legislators pass law to open NYPD radio encryption to public

I remember in the 70's and 80's going with my dad to Stuart Electronics on Parsons and Union Tpk. to buy crystals. That place always seemed to be packed with people buying scanners and crystals.
