Probably one of the lousiest and most unique places to have a major fire in morning rush hour.
- Main entrance to Christ the King HS to the left of the fire building
- "M" train Metropolitan Av Station to the right and the freight line running alongside it and beyond... and the shopping...
Poor E228 turned around on both 2-2 and 3-3 because relocators were assigned instead. How the times have changed. The trend continues. I don't see the reasoning for leaving the 'first-due' neighborhoods with a large gap in services over and over when they transmit more alarms or special call units.
The CIDS had nothing to do with the fire - the barges are like a mile away from the building in CIDS which is split between the SI3 district garage and the Richmond Boro Repair Shop - hence the lifts for heavy equipment
MIght have been some traffic issues getting in there as today is the 2022 Black Heritage Parade with lots of street closures in the area and a 1pm festival in Tappen Park right across the street.
Apparently the computer throws the dart at the dartboard and figures 303,315,275,301,305 and Sq270 can cover all of 298's area while they stand with a limp hose in hand watching an extinguished fire
