    9/22/21 Brooklyn 10-75 Box 3303

Chief a few years back they changed the whole house going together, the only time they go together is for an actual response. Eliminates relocating units to unfamiliar areas and leaving one unit back to ensure some coverage in area. Same thing now on New Year’s Eve for Times Square and other...

NYC fire marshals bust reckless business owner for stash of 104 propane tanks

Since the outdoor eating has been allowed restaurants have been using outdoor propane heaters and this is an example of a new business person illegally storing propane cylinders and I’m sure selling them and refilling for many area restaurants since you cannot get propane in NYC legally. Outer...

    4/23/21. NEW SEAGRAVE TOWER LADDERS

Since many of the older firehouses have undergone renovations space on apparatus floor was used for handicap accessible facilities, kitchen extensions in smaller houses and general storage areas. We used to store a reserve pumper in quarters but after renovations it wouldn’t fit back in...

Volunteer fire house in the city.

That rig is not a true quint, it certainly doesn’t have enough ground ladders required plus not sure if that ladder meets minimum length to be considered. I assume the pumps and booster tank plus hose beds are good for minimum standard.

Tower Ladder Master Stream Water Supply

Tower Ladder Siamese inlets are 3” and that’s what hose is stretched when supplying, the 3 1/2 hose in FDNY has 3” fittings. An increaser from 2 1/2 to 3” would be needed in event of 2 1/2 line being used. You can add the second line to the Siamese if needed for whatever reason but usually one 3...

    Covering bosses

There is a criteria for making an acting Lieutenant, first choice would be a member already on promotion list then it would go to seniority. Most chauffeur’s have basic knowledge on using MDT and department radio for transmissions. If there is another officer in company in quarters that boss...

    New Seagrave Contracts

The roofs are raised due to the engine moving forward due to epa rules and they were raised to allow firefighters to get in and move inside without hitting head as you moved inside crew cab, not to allow you to don gear. The officers seat and chauffeur seat are cramped due to he engine cover.

    1/5/21 Manhattan 4th Alarm Box 1797

There is no official policy that I am aware of, that being said they 52’s are the most northern company in the Bronx so if they do send them the entire area from Fordham Road with Sedgwick Ave up to city line has no fire protection until a relocation gets up there. So it’s is easier to just send...

    12/22/20 Queens 2nd Alarm Box 9237

Used to do escort duty with propane truck to rock when the burn building needed refill of propane, I’m sure this vehicle wasn’t placarded and as stated making drops at places using propane for outdoor heaters. I think propane is illegal to transport in the city. I know you cannot refill 20lbs...
