    What I do not understand is that manufacturers are rolling out completed, new order apparatus. Are those parts that are needed being used to fill orders? Don't Seagrave, Pierce, E-One have an obligation to those cities/departments that purchased units from them?

    There have been comments about the weight of tillers vs rear mounts and towers. Info from the Ops Guide page 244. 1985 Mack TL 56,000#, 2021 Seagraves 80,000. Rear mounts 1988 Seagrave 54,200 vs a 2017 Ferrara of 75,000. A 1986 Seagrave tiller was 48,400 vs a 2016 unit of 66,800.

    But no Boston is not interested. They brought one in from a suburb and checked out Ladder 1(E-8) and Ladder 24 (E-4) and they barely fit into one house and not at the other. They are very happy with their E-One Cyclone Metros, the entire fleet is equipped with them and several more are on order...

    Listening to V-1, it appears they are giving the co-ordinates for the water and retardent drops. I guess if you have the correct type of map you can follow along. CNN was showing C-130 drops, that must be a rush, flying that low in the valleys.

    What exactly is the MCC? My ops guide, 13th ed, says page 65 but that page is for PIO and rebreather units. And while you have it open check out page 66 and Rescue rundown, can someone advise the editor of this fantastic publication to correct that listing, thank you.

    Sound like FDNY is having the same problem as Chicago, a lot of CFD fleet is in spares or older apparatus.
