Real answer, in general NYC is significantly different than most other cities, many of them can go to the 3 side with rigs (im pretty sure in some places like you said its SOP for at least an engine and truck to go to the 3 side). For many parts of NYC thats simply not feasible or possible. If...- bxengine

Have had at least 2 truck bosses who made that comment scream for faster water after the engine had to stretch 17 and 19 lengths, respectively, at jobs. ;)- bxengine
