What about a train station stop made it special that both 233's would respond? Love learning the history of the 60's, 70's and 80's.

So many companies so close here. H&L6 is only 6 blocks away on Allen St and is 4th due and TL18 is about 7 blocks away and not on the ticket.

Was E324 on a run? I thought they were 2nd due? Easy run down 108 for them.

Just looking at a map, 112 on Ralph makes a lot of sense. However knowing what was going on in Bushwick in the 80's, it probably made more sense for them to stay on Knick

    8/2/23 Brooklyn 3rd Alarm Box 1808

Surprised 286/135 don't get in on this. Short run over Cypress Hills Street.

This has probably been answered already, but does anyone know if the plan is to cross staff the SP with an engine similar to the satellites or to give it dedicated staff?

    Firehouse replacement

If you're into that "new" look. I prefer the look of the old firehouses. Hate seeing the old R2 wasting away.

I think their neighbors to the North East need one more then they do!

    Gentrification

Capttomo, the work you put into this is great. These maps and stats are very informative. I've always been interested in the fire duty and changes in these areas of the South Bronx. I started this thread after watching the most recent Gettin Salty episode with Craig Thweatt. he talks about his...

    Gentrification

With many neighborhoods that were once the busiest in NYC, what companies do you think have seen the biggest decline in run and working incidents since the mid-90's. Obviously removing the companies in 2003, I was wondering who has seen the biggest decrease in runs and work.

I think 288 is before 206 in that area behind 291.

    Boston Engine Company 11

I'm not all that familiar with Boston although I've visited a few times. Do the Sumner and Callahan Tunnels run parallel to each other? Was E11 reactivated because there will be delays due to traffic in only one tunnel being opened?

    Engine 17 Engine FDNY

I've always wondered how E328 stayed open but all of these were closed. I suppose it's because there is no one else around them.

    6/29/23 Queens 10-75 Box 4295

I think 135 is ahead of 138 and 143 there. Maybe they were tied up elsewhere.

    LAD*18 FORT PITT .

I asked in another forum but did not see an answer, were the Delancey St side bays ever occupied? Back in the very early 2000's there was talk of moving ESU Truck 1 there.

Fabulous Firehouses become Homes and Businesses

What is happening with 212 old quarters? Does the city still own that? That's a neighborhood that could use additional fire protection.

6/17/23 Queens All Hands Box 7074

Surprised 288 isn't first if 287 was out. Maybe 288 was elsewhere.

    SUPER PUMPER 1

I stopped working downtown in the early 2000's. Did anything ever move into the Delancey St side of the Pitt St firehouse? There was rumor years ago that ESU was going to move there.
