Looking on Google maps at L175 old quarters on New Jersey Ave, it appears the firehouse is one of the few buildings still standing on the street. Was that block all wood frames that burned during the war years?

Do BARB assignments take in one way streets as a factor? It seems 16/7 would have to make a left out of quarters and travel all the way to Lex then to 23 St and make a left if you're following one way streets. I know generally 16/7 would just go against traffic on E29 St to 2nd Ave. Just...

Anyone know the actual order when everyone is available for 418? L11 has a straight run up E2 St but it switches to one way against them at 1 ave.

I often forget that 50/50-2/19/Div 6 were on E166 St until 1976. During all those busy war years they were coming out of that old house on a tight little street too.

Chief, I find it very interesting to learn of how fires in the 60's and 70's effected the makeup of neighborhoods. I was looking on the map at the Seigel St area and I see Seigel Court. Were those house on Seigel Court constructed after 108 moved to Union?

Was E50 relocated? Seems like a long ride from Charlestown to South Dorchester. I don't know much about BFD, but I have been to E50's house a few times on buff trips.

In the busy years while the bells were still being used, how did they account for companies being out of position? For example if E42 was over in E50's area and another box was transmitted in 50's area that 42 wasn't normally due on would they just let the 3 engines normally assigned respond or...
