    "FIRESTORM" book.

FDNY had numerous combination fire companies from 1881 to 1929. E96 was a combo in the 1940s and E49 was always a combo company. Not a novel concept in FDNY.

Mutual Aid to NJ BOX 8039

If units are supposed to stage before responding on mutual aid, like at the foot of a bridge or tunnel, it would make sense to use the box location of the staging location. Marine units sometimes embark other units, so using Marine 9's home box, for example, will send those units to their quarters.

LA County Fire Station destroyed by fire

That is to be expected. It's when a Fire Chief says it (not necessarily this one). "Don't let the issue be confused with facts."

LA County Fire Station destroyed by fire

When fire stations are opened, response times will improve. When fire stations are closed, "response times are not impacted." Must be magic. Were all of the nearby LA City units unavailable? None seen on the video.
