A couple of questions on the assignment, I thought the 10-66 brought the major matrix, in which case there should be a second rescue and squad, right? Also BCs as FF locator and FAST group supervisor? Or did this stuff change with the recent revisions to the 10-66?

Yes I am aware, however, I believe most squads are now carrying small overpack drums with cell block on their first piece due to the increase in LI battery fires.

I believe that their recently-released strategic plan said something to the effect of all incoming probies will be paramedics or EMTs and will in the future maintain that credential on the fire side. If I am correct on that, your suggestion will take care of itself eventually

Are you saying they're all trained and have the second piece ready and aren't put in service as an HMTU yet due to budget? I presume due to the 12% (or whatever it is) SOC pay?
