    FDNY Strategic Plan 2025

Some interesting proposals. A few things I noticed: - Looking at a potential pilot program to have ladder companies to respond to CFRD - Looking at having fire companies be able to get a refusal of medical attention without having to wait for EMS to free up resources - Looking at having EMS...

    5/3/25 Brooklyn All-Hands Box 8050

For example: For Sat 1, 24 is the backup to 9, with 24 having at least two engines between them and 9 For Sat 2, 97 is the backup to 72, same deal For Sat 3, 330 backs up 284, they're fairly close but not sure whether they'd have first and second due boxes together For Sat 4, 291 backs up 324...

    5/3/25 Brooklyn All-Hands Box 8050

It is interesting that for Sat6, primary and secondary are two companies that run in first and second due together. It seems this is not the norm for the other Satellies, where the backup company seems to be typically located just outside the battalion where the primary is located. In FDNY where...

    5/3/25 Brooklyn All-Hands Box 8050

For example, in the links below, first or second due fires for E159 in SI, the backup engine, 152, was assigned for the SAT. https://www.nycfire.net/forums/threads/6-8-24-staten-island-10-75-box-2432.83209/#google_vignette...

    5/3/25 Brooklyn All-Hands Box 8050

Unless I'm missing something, the satellites do not turn out with their normal company on their own first, second, third, and fourth due boxes, no? In these cases, I believe the backup company becomes the satellite unit. I could be wrong but this was my understanding

Curious about the Satellite response. Does the SAT automatically go for calls in the Navy Yard? If so, how come 207 took it vs. the backup company? I assume 207 is normally second due here?

    4/27/25 Staten Island 10-77 Box 0219

It seems to me that Tac 2 goes to a lot of calls on SI where the Tac wouldn't normally be assigned. They've been on a few AH lately where D8 asked them to be put on the box. Just a guess, but guessing since it is a unique area and they're in with the 8th, the Division tells them to self assign...

    4/9/25 Staten Island 3rd Alarm Box 447

Is there any particular reason they won't assign South Brooklyn engines on a greater alarm in this area of North SI? Quick look at the maps suggests E242 and surrounding companies would be much faster into this than the far-out SI companies such as E164

    Rescue Equipment Question

On the topic of differences between rescues, I believe Rescue 5 does not carry a boat on its main rig, unlike all the other rescues. R5's boat is kept on the collapse rig. My understanding is this is because, unlike the other rescues, R5 is in quarters with Tac2, and therefore will use Tac2's...
