The new fire house topic sparked a question. What were the latest companies to move out of single quarters to combine in a new or existing house? I can think of E15 moving to TL18, 201 & 114 new house, 63 & 39? Any others?

So during that time the Satellite’s were their own company and not cross staffed by their house engines?

When a satellite is assigned to a job via run cards, if the satellite isn’t utilized at that job, do the members assigned to the satellite stay with the rig, or do they join their normally assigned engine company and operate? Thank you for any input.

I have 0 knowledge of their first due’s but funny you mention 38 & 49 didn’t they both have those massive Seagrave RMs in the early 90’s?

I met the truck committee when they were out at the factory not too long ago, great group.

Sumner was built in the 30’s, state route 1A, traffic went both directions. Callahan was built mid 60’s parrallel and then each tunnel had one direction. The “Big Dig” brought the Ted Williams in the early 90’s, it took the Mass Pike or Interstate 90 from the NY border right to Logan.

Out of all the posts about this incident your put the most perspective on it, no ventilation, truly mind blowing when you think for a minute.

yes they are parrallel, East Boston is only connected to “downtown” or “Boston proper” by tunnels, the harbor divides them. East Boston is on 1 fire district, District 1, 3 engines and 2 ladders. It’s just shy of 5 square miles and included Logan Airport.

Ladder 2’s Facebook page reported the truck was abandoned in the street between the buildings, photos showed the truck covered in ash and such, no immediate damage noted.

Watched the same video, I see how busy “9’s” is but it is interesting to see they have 2 engines, a ladder, 4 ambulances and a Fast response unit. That’s crazy to have 8 companies in the house.

I apologize, I’m sure it’s been covered, but how are the companies getting to GI?

One of the local sign companies posted on their social media, this truck was originally Ladder 8, and was just changed last week to Ladder 4.
