    9/24/20 Bronx 2nd Alarm Box 3580

Just the beginning, wait a few more months when these businesses (especially restaurants) realize they can't continue. Should be interesting, to say the least.

    Disbanded units

When the money gets tight (tighter?) they will bring out all of those other plans such as cutting the manning, eliminate Chiefs Aides, quints, just to name a few. All to save $$$$. Who knows, maybe the CFC's will make a comeback.

    Disbanded units

Looking forward I'm sure there will be many companies disbanded and other cuts made. It will be much worse than 1975.

LAFD To Purchase First Electric Fire Engine In North America

LAFD as well as most other departments in CA respond on Mutual Aid sometimes a distance of 150 miles or more. What kind of range would this rig have? It might be a modern version of the ALF Turbo Chief that San Francisco had in the early 60's and didn't last very long.

    VINTAGE FDNY WAR YEAR LIDS

The "Ladder 78" frontpiece is black so it is not from a ladder company. It is probably Engine 78, the fire boat that was at 90 St. & the East River before becoming Marine 5 in 1959.

FDNY and NYC Firehouses and Fire Companies

Ladder 23 was only in their own house for 20 years (1898-1918). Is this is a record for the least amount of time in a permanent quarters? Also, a lot of companies were only combined in the 40's and 50's. I wonder what the reason was for moving the truck.
