    DEMONSTRATOR ENG / AMBULANCE

These have been around for 15-20 years. Not many people use them. Some Florida departments experimented with these over the years and then never bought another one. Broward County Fire Rescue has had one for about 10 years now and it is stationed out on Alligator alley 20 miles from the next...

Looks like a great operation at a slightly challenging run. E331 double tapped the hydrant for maximum water. L142 flowing a great stream from the bucket. Bldg is built to burn and built for early collapse. Early decision to stay out of building, nice use of Marine 6, and good use of hydraulic...

    Washingron DC new rigs questions.

DC city commissioners backed its firefighters today and shut down the pending shady $25 million purchase of low quality Fire apparatus. A nice win for our brothers in DC.

    Washingron DC new rigs questions.

M FDNY had HME cabs with Saulsbury Bodies in the late 1990’s. They were shit construction back then as well.

    Washingron DC new rigs questions.

The union is correct HME - Aherns Fox is a low end builder. To my knowledge they do not build aerial pieces. Owned by the Atonne group who owns 13 other diverse companies that do not make fire apparatus - private equity/ venture capitalists. Interesting situation.

Thanks for the update. The reason i inquired about the CFR runs was that E79 ran just short of 3600 medical runs in 2025. That’s about 9-10 a day. Might be best to put an EMS fly car with 2 EMTs in 79 area from 0800-2400. Until more definitive plans are worked out.

The TZ bridge was built north of the old TZ because the any further south would have put it within the PA’s legal area of authority

Yes they are too politically connected and powerful in TWO states. So when problems arise the either sweep them under the rug, or pay fines and or make the changes that are legally or statutorily forced upon them and life goes on until the next scandal

Good post. That is the same almost everywhere. Even where departments provide Fire, EMS and ARFF under one agency. Structural rigs, paramedic units and ambulances must be escorted as per Federal Law. Often the airport staff with yellow lights on SUVs and Trucks perform this role as an adjunct...

The port authority police historically has not provided best in class firefighting services. They are a separate bi- state political authority who wield a tremendous amount of power. In 2013 they were fined 3.5 million dollars by the FAA for incomplete and non training issues. They had to go...

NYPD Strategic Response Groups still poised to be disbanded.

The would probably fall back to the decades old mobilization levels. Which takes a lot more time to gather units from various precincts and assemble them. Problem is that most of the sector cars responding have very little training in crowd control and civil unrest and how many remembered to...
