Love hearing what places you guys remember at places through the years. 1940s nyc site shows a pizzeria called Albert’s which houses a pizzeria to this day. Sure there was a few name changes through the years. And the fire building showed a pic of soda/candy/luncheonette possibly called...

From the view of building before that shaft collapsed can see AC units on both sides of the shaft. I’d imagine many were held in by the weight of the unit, some cardboard and maybe some scotch tape. IMO Any little disruption could knock them out let alone a possible gas explosion. Thankfully...

Got on NYPD in 1989 and assigned lower east side. Even though the Tompkins square riot was in 1988 we were constantly dealing with stuff in the park and the surrounding areas. Eventually they got all the crap out of the park sealed it off and fixed it up. The big $$ people were buying up the...

curious who got in as 1st due engine. Looking at map if 3 & 2 were assigned initially would look to be a relatively faster and easier for 279 and even 239 ahead of 220. Has to be a close box for all 3. Trucks I’d give the nod to 122 ahead of the slower tower of 131.

Drive there safely, park chiefs car out of way, get your handie talkies, get you paperwork with your script and start filling in the blanks, damn it pencil broke, Chief is calling me, dispatcher is calling me, some one is asking me to help with the line, etc…...

Dispatchers use this code when they get multiple calls and it sounds like a working fire based on the information received. Sends full assignment before first due units get in
