The FDNY has a mutual aid plan for the surrounding counties. A number of the career/combo departments from Westchester County used to participate in an annual drill at The Rock. I believe LI and NJ counties held similar drills over the years.
My grandfather was a Captain with the Eastchester FD in Westchester County. He responded along with members from the Eastchester FD down to the USS Constellation for the mutual aid request for SCBA's. Sadly, he passed away 2 years later in 1962 due to cancer. Nowadays, it would have been a LODD...

2 Truck was disbanded back around 2000. I used to love to stop in there to grab a t-shirt during Firehouse Expo. That was also a great week to be in Baltimore.
I think it closed not too long after they lost the aerial contracts to Seagrave. I'm pretty sure it only existed for warranty service for the FDNY contracts.
The new regional dealer opened a facility on Long Island a while back so maybe they handle the FDNY work now.
Pierce doesn’t make a stainless steel cab which is a sticking point for the FDNY. They only offer stainless bodies.
Ferrara and KME both basically designed cabs specifically for the FDNY.
