    Fire books for kids...

I can highly recommend Firehouse from Nina Barbaresi. My daughter and myself we both love the book and read it nearly every day. I don't think you still can get it new, but you will find it without any problems on amazon or Abe books.

    New Rescues ?

I am sorry to dig up this old thread again. The opening of the bids has already been a few months ago. Does anyone have any idea what the vehicles are for and who won the contract?

FDNY/DCAS RFP issued for prototype apparatus

Thank you for your detailed response! That's great to learn and much appreciated! First of all, I would like to clarify that I certainly do not think that the RT should be the new standard fire truck that everyone has to use. The cost of the vehicle alone, which is currently more than twice...

FDNY/DCAS RFP issued for prototype apparatus

I wouldn't call it a hybrid, as the diesel can't power the truck to drive. The diesel is solely a back-up as this is an emergency truck that has to function. Compartment space and usage is very different between Europe and North America. For the European layout this works pretty good. I know...

FDNY/DCAS RFP issued for prototype apparatus

The Berlin Fire Department had one Rosenbauer RT for tests for one year, where they had tested it on the four busiest stations. In the German press it was mentioned that they used the range extender online a few times then they were on the way back to the station after the call. Berlin kept the...

    New Rearmount order

58 mph corresponds to almost 100 kmh. This is the speed at which fire trucks are also limited in Germany. I think this is also rather the European standard. Sweden is a very sparsely populated country, in which there are also relatively few fire stations. So that especially in rural areas long...

London Fire Brigade 209Ft Tower Ladder

If you have a look at around 0:43sec you can see the waterline in the ladder park below the folded lift. Normally, turntable ladders in Europe do not have a permanently installed water pipe up to the basket. However, there is often a permanently installed pipe in the top part of the ladder...

    JOB IN LONDON

Hello all I have been a silent reader in this forum for a long time. But now I would like to contribute something to this discussion with the turntable ladders in London. Briefly about me, I am a volunteer firefighter in Germany, but also lived in London from 2017 to 2019. To say that the...
