The Dunns Corners FD responded to report of a working structure fire at 25 Governor Avenue in the Weekapaug section of Westerly. Based on initial reports, the IC requested one engine from the Misquamicut FD as mutual aid. The fire started in a car in a two bay garage underneath a two and one half wood frame residence. Upon arrival, heavy fire was blowing out of the garage and extended up into the house. IC requested one engine from Westerly FD as additional mutual aid.
Numerous handlines were stretched and operated in the garage and first and second floors of the house.
