This is a mid-70's card with some oddball assignments (L49 first due yet E68 is 3rd due after E93 and reserve):

25 years ago I worked in a small post office (University Hts. Station) in that taxpayer (closest store to apt. bldg).  It was moved around the corner to Featherbed Lane because the Plimpton Ave. location was out of the way and the neighborhood was really bad back then, probably worse today.      http://www.vpike.com/?place=1538+Plimpton+Avenue%2C+Bronx%2C+N.Y.

I saw alot of jobs in your ole post office neighborhood there G-man. I hope the Post Office gave you hazardous duty pay going to work there.

No hazard pay but my job was to fill-in for the managers of those stations and there were a few holdups during that time. Lucky me, they never happened while I was on duty. We had a 3 alarmer once while I was working at 829 Soundview Ave. (X-Rosedale btwn Story & Lafayette). There was a fire in the rear loading dock of the FINAST Supermarket next door that communicated to the roof and our post office became exposure 4. The officer from L48(2nd due truck) asked us to leave because our roof was burning. I made a decision to put all our uncounted funds and paperwork in the safe to be audited at a later time but my boss, "Nervous Nat Levy", thought I was wrong. I did it anyway and the following day, headquarters staff came and told me I made the right decision while my nervous boss stood by chewing on his cigar(LOL).
