I feel their pain. January 7th we had a 4th alarm in a 3 story balloon frame. Single digit temps, below zero with the howling wind that evening. Our Bronto froze in the air, still OOS at the E-One shop.

I was coming up the BQE around 11:30 and saw E279 sb around Tillary St - then saw BC 17 a few minutes later reporting on the fifth coming down the BQE around Humboldt St.  Could E279 have been released already from being Comm Mgr on the third alarm?

If you look at some of the earlier videos which show both M6 and M9 operating, you can get a feel for the huge volume of water the M9 water cannon puts out.  It just dwarfs the stream from M6 (which is no slouch).  If you consider that M9 has been operating steadily for more than 6 hours, imagine the volume of water it has put on that fire.  That's without ANY of the land units.  I can't imagine what the ice buildup is like around that scene.

YES 212 would have been 1st Due along w/SQ*7 originally quartered w/them.....also missing early on would have been ENG*213...ENG*215...BN*36......the area had more Fire protection back when it had LESS population density than today.......the news reports say the bldg stored City records....i wonder if this was just a name or were there actual City records...if so i wonder from where ? ......good to see a Second FAST ordered for a bldg this size..... Some cold work for the BROTHERS that will go on for quite awhile......Hope all stay safe.
