SI reporting smoke in the area

SI to BC23: Now receiving Lemon Creek, getting multiple calls for smoke

SI to L84, TL76, E164, E151,E168: Responding?

All Units: 10-4 responding (E164 redirected off another box)

NYPD receiving reports of a boat explosion

L84 to SI: 10-84, we have a boat fire on a trailer at your location.

BC23 to SI: Water on the fire, cancel Marine 8 and Marine 1. Using 2&2, the boat is on land.

BC23: We had a foam line stretched, Fire is KD. No extension.

Probably:
E164, E151, E168
L084, T076
BC. 23

*Question: How is a foam line stretched from an engine, where is the foam put through? Is it operated like a regular handline?

^^^^^ A Foam Line when stretched off an ENG is generally used with an Eductor that sucks Foam concentrate with a pickup tube from a 5 gallon can... the flowing water provides the suction ...the line (either 1 3/4" or 2 1/2") would generally have a Foam Nozzle .....that is the standard procedure...another method that used to be used was to dump the concentrate into the ENGs Booster Tank & flow the foam thru an 1 3/4 with an FT 2 Tip....not as effective or neat as the Eductor & a Foam Nozzle but it works especially quick in an instance like if you were using the 1 3/4" with an FT2 Tip already on a car Fire & the gas tank let go.... rather than breaking down the line or stretching another with Foam Eductor & Foam Nozzle you could dump the Foam concentrate into the Booster Tank & flow the Foam thru the original Line .......ENGs carry 3 cans of concentrate & LADs carry 2 cans (for additional use by an ENG).
