I have just turned off the tv news in disgust. The 'press conference' at Jacobi Hospital starts with the PC, O'Neill, thanking and naming all the stooges, titles included, for coming. Then he hands it over to DiBlowsio who looks so serious, heartbroken and sadden over this tragic event. He could care less and my opinion of this 'thru the ranks' Police Commissioner is nil and that's without mentioning his past stunt with the piece of shit mayor 'throwing' the Sergeant form the Bronx under the bus in regards to the edp episode a few weeks ago. My heart and prayers go out to the Sergeant who passed away, his wife, children, family and members of the NYPD as well as wishes for a speedy and full recovery to the second Sergeant shot in this incident today.
My fellow site members, if you think I have spoken too harshly here or ranted too long please tell me. I just can't believe that the introducing and naming the flunkies in attendance before getting down to the 'nuts and bolts' of this conference reeks of politics and 'yes men.'

Another sad day for the members of our police force. Just a few days ago it was two other POs gunned down in Iowa.
My condolences to the family members, friends, and to the members of the NYPD. Another tragic loss to those who protect us every day of our lives.
MM, I did not see the PCs report. But I'm sure that what you say is correct. The concerned friends and family members wanted to hear the report and could care less who was sitting in that room. That's a disgrace to the families and members of the NYPD.
I would also like to say that I have a lot more respect for the Police Officers and their families of our cities and towns, than I do for most politicians or their appointed friends.

I live in Queens. My local firehouse has blue & black piping over the truck numbers. I never noticed this done in the past for our fallen, but it is a beautiful gesture.
I tip my hat to FDNY Engine 287/Ladder 136. Thank you.

I first noticed companies doing this after the LODDs of these officers as well back in December a year or two ago. Probably done before in the past too. A large number of FDNY companies across the city in all 5 boroughs showed their solidarity by adding either the NYPD flag, blue stripes, or other tributes on the rigs. Truly amazing to see this happen, and it is unfortunate to see it happen as well in such circumstances.68jk09 said:
As far as this recent LODD for the NYPD, I know that E164/L084 by me have added the thin blue stripe to their rig doors. A pic of this was taken and posted by the official FDNY social media page. As we see in the above post, other companies around the city are doing similar.
Also a side note, when BC Fahey died in the LOD in September, I thought it was a nice gesture to see that the NYPD 123PCT, the southernmost PCT in the city out by me added the thin red stripe to their RMPs. Solidarity.
