The Pawcatuck FD respond to a working structure fire at 26 Moss Street around 1630.  Stonington PD unit on the scene reported a fully involved garage fire with report of two youths running down the street.  PFD arrived to find heavy fire from a 2 story 20 x 45 wood frame storage shed.  Fire was mostly in the rear of the second floor and through the roof.  Severe exposure problems with adjoining garages and houses. PFD made an aggressive attack and prevented fire spread into exposures.  PFD investigators were assisted by Stonington PD and State Fire Marshals.  Structure was overloaded with used tires, doors, mattresses, and boats.  Access to the second floor was delayed due to debris and stored items.  An excavator was called in to demolish the shed/barn to allow for final extinguishing and overhaul.

Units on scene: Engines: T 43, T 41, T 42  Tower Ladder: T 45; Westerly Ambulance, Stonington Ambulance, Stonington PD, State Fire Marshal
