Initial call was dispatched as a high speed accident involving a vehicle racing over 100 mph. The vehicle struck a tree head on ejecting the passenger and sending the vehicle another 300 ft. Bystanders extinguished a small engine fire and awaited fire crews. The driver of the vehicle was still inside the Mustang suffering severe head trauma. The driver was extricated by Ladder 3 and transported to Norfolk Sentara Hospital by Medic 3A. The passenger was flown to Norfolk Sentara by the regions air helicopter, Nightingale. Both patients are believed to have life threatening injuries
