L-86 REPORTS THEIR BRAKES ARE LOCKED UP, RIG BLOCKING TRAFFIC, REQ. DEPARTMENT MECHANIC.

Not all that unusual with air brakes . . . but can be dangerous . . . and also embarassing :eek:

Embarrassing, but at least they know the brakes work. Does that require a spare truck or can they fix that on the spot?

Depends on what caused the lockup.  Often it's just a matter of releasing a valve to let the air bleed off.  It's most common on the rear wheels.

I remember hearing about that. I still wonder how that truck was ever allowed back into front line service. Thanks for the replies
