Box 8400: Grand Central Pkwy - LIE to Northern Blvd

Around 21:05
Disp: Phone Alarm for an MVA on the GCP
Disp to BC46: 3 and 2 per dispatch policy

Assignment included
Engines 324, 289
Trucks: TL 138, L151
BC46

Disp: Reportedly one vehicle fled the scene and is stopped up by Northern Blvd - car may be smoking

BC46: person fleeing across five lanes of traffic - intoxicated person apprehended by some members and being held for arrival of PD

1. Kudos to NY's Bravest - they do it all without "pomp and circumstance"

2. Have heard this term dispatch policy for MVA's the last few days - anyone familiar with what is going on here?

They use that term when there is an emergency on a highway. The minimum or "Dispatch Policy" is at least 3 and 2. If most of the MVA's that you are talking about happened on the parkways or expressways, then this is the reason.
