Two old cards from 1969 & 1972, this was one "HOT" Box back then:

Uploaded with ImageShack.us

Interesting:

50 & 19 relocate to 73 & 42.

Never see that happen anymore.  Wonder how often it happened back then?

E73/L42 had neighboring houses relocate to them on many boxes, especially the ones they were on the 1st alarm for. If the box was southwest it would be E94/L48; north, E83/L29, southeast, E50/L19. If the box was further away (2nd, 3rd, 4th or 5th alarm) the trucks would still be 19, 29 or 48 but E73 would get 41, 35 or 96.

Worked in 50 70-73. The only two houses I remember relocating to then were 73 and 69. How often? My 3 plus years there 73 maybe a dozen times and 69 about the same. When we went to 73 we would "hang out" (qtrs had a wall between the companies) on the 42 truck side as 73 was a shit house, as they would like to call themselves La Casa Caca?? Worked in 82 73-76. 82 didn't relocate those years as it was to busy. But towards the end of my time with the areas burned down and Gasoline Gomez having blown himself out a window, the work was heading North. The Bx dispatchers did occassionally relocate 82 around 1976. But it was still a gamble. I was only relocated once while there. We got back to our qtrs from the relocation and within 2 or 3 minutes had a first due all hands.
