Tom, thanks for the list. Now another storm approaching.

Can you tell us what a Swift water team Consist of. Also in SI you have Eng 512 w/both Eng 158 and 168. I'm sure its just a typo. And also listed is BFU TF7 in Queens @ EMS, and BFU TF @ Seaview. What do the BFU TFs consist of.

Bill from what I have seen a swift water team is a spare engine with a boat on the hose bed. Now is this going to be the norm for every storm from now on??

Here is a page with some info on SSL http://nycfire.net/fdny/soc_truck
The second unit (Small Truck) can be used as a RRV unit and respond with 1 officer and 2 FF's
The CPC units can do the same along with BFU's which are being assigned to EMS as needed.

Thanks for the help guys. I appreciate that.

With all you've been through in NYC lately, I'd be very happy to hear that all those extra companies did Nothing during this storm.

Here in Connecticut at the ole' country homestead, as far as I know, no extra companies put in service. As of this time we are getting light snow (our first, maybe an inch) with winds about 25 mph.

At the firehouse now and all the special units in my house went home and not riding with a 5th man. Guess they thought it wasn't going to be that bad tonight.
