Normally a clear 81/46 first due box. Not sure if they got in first. It's a very long and isolated one way street.

To get to the fire building, you have to pass 2744 Kingsbridge Terr., which some of you might recognize from a popular 1979 movie.

Believe E81 was taking up from a highway box with L59. Not sure about 46

In the olden day’s (Pre War Years) this was a 2 and 2 box,

81 75. 46 33. BN 19.

In those days companies did not respond on the 1st Alarm beyond 1.4 miles. This was a holdover from the horse drawn era so as not to exhaust the horses. This response pattern was retained after motorization as there were no radios for communications, and units would be out of service too long unless there was the unusual working fire. A 2d Alarm to a 2 & 2 box would bring 4 engines and a truck, in this case

48 79 95 88. 37 D7

Not certain if E95 came across the Harlem River that far in those days, leaving Inwood unprotected. R3 on the 3d Alarm.

These are of course from the company quarters at that time. Subsequent new qtrs for 75/33 and 48+56 changed the distances and response.

Yes even in the mid 70’s E075 and L033 were second due into that box. The 52’s didn’t leave the hill back then
