Notice on the card That engine 58 was not assigned at all. This was a result of a change of policy with double companies. Prior to the War Years, the second section was never assigned on the same box as the first section but remained behind to cover the area. That policy reduced the workload of that particular house but had no effect on surrounding companies. To give  the surrounding companies a break, the policy changed in 1969 and both sections often went to the same box.


Also on that card, L43 was located with E91, E35 was by itself on 119th Street,  E53 by itself in its old house, E's 36,37 and L's 14,40 all in separate houses. Big changes in Harlem since then.
