I am amazed that this rig was only 316 HP engine. Todays Tower Ladders 500+ HP. also the GVW with a filled booster tank, tandem axles, pump, etc only 46,000 lbs. Most 100 foot aerial platforms of today are over 70,000 lbs GVW with some approaching 80,000

Weren't there issues regarding the use of the pump between the union and the city?

1980.....TWO SUTPHENS....LAD*14 & LAD*119....Later on both were on Hooper St w/119....One as their regular Rig & the other in their QTRS as a Spare only to be used by them as the Rig was a little too complicated to be floating around the Job.....as per agreement with the Unions Pumps were only allowed to be used to augment a supply line from an ENG for the TL stream not to operate a Landline.

Horsepower is a moot point in diesel motors. Torque is what moves the rig.
