2/1/09 Jersey City Ladder falls into a little hole...

The rear end of Jersey City Ladder 8 fell into a 15-foot wide sinkhole as the truck was en-route to an emergency.  Several heavy cranes had to brought in to lift the truck free before it fell in any further and compromised gas lines.  Reminds me of something that happened to a certain Bronx TL not too long back...  ;D

About 8 or 9 years ago 71 engine fell into a sink hole while hooked up to a hydrant and pumping at a multiple alarm on Gerard and E 158th St. Street collapsed and rear end of rig went into the hole. Same building as the 3rd the other night.

i believe that the same thing happened to engine 16 in manhattan a few years back

And the Tower Ladder mentioned must've been TL31 last year.
