Was in brooklyn til about 4:00 am this morning trying to catch something, and ended up hearing the second alarm come in over brooklyn...brooklyn was so slow, nothing going on, so I just hit the brooklyn bridge over to this box and go there as they were transmitting the third. Div 1's aide sounded like a dope on the radio though lol. So I got my fill ;)

LOL BFD, I'm gonna see what I can do, I'm starting up my own webpage on Smugmug today, and maybe I'll post a video on youtube. :)

Div. 1 kept asking for saws, 10 ft hooks. Everything he asked for had to do with a truck, he musta been a truckie

Fire in these types of buildings are a muthafusser....High ceilings and lots of conversion goes on inside them which requires saws and 10' hooks.  Div 1 Chiefs know the job very very well and have lots of experience.  Being that the 1st Division is so unique and complex the spot doesn't go to just anyone.

I mean no disrespect, and don't think I could do the job better. Just saying it was funny seeing so many guys standing around with 10 foot pike poles

There wasn't a lot of fire, well visible fire, just smoke from what I saw. It was funny seeing Ladder 20's stick go to work on exterior windows :)

You are a buff. You have some set of stones calling the aide a dope.

Lofts are tough buildings.  Just because you don't see a lot of visible fire from outside of the building doesn't mean you can accurately evaluate the conditions inside.  Remember, smoke kills.  Using the aerial to vent windows is an acceptable practice.
