Squatters in previous fires, now a 10-45,1 transmitted.
Wonder if any hydrants blocked, neighborhood has a problem with that.
City has a blocked hydrant problem. More hydrants blocked these days than unblocked it seems. Always thought the simple trick some cities around country do of placing a flag on each hydrant for easy visibility was clever.

good idea...however those hydrant flags will be gone in a week ..probably used by people on ebikes
other cities place a blue cleat near hydrants in middle of roadway which would be more probable
either way something should be done

Providence, R.I. paints a white band around the nearest hydrant about 6 feet up.
They paint a black "H" on that band with an arrow pointing the approximate number of feet away to that hydrant.
Example: a hydrant 50 feet away to the right has an arrow painted in black pointing in the direction of the hydrant with the number 50 on it.

A hydrant across the street gets a black "X" painted under the white band with an arrow marking the number of feet in the correct direction, right or left.

I hope that I have been able to explain this for you to understand.
I don't have a picture to show you either.
I believe in the warmer weather the companies go out in their first due district painting these bands on the street poles
To me, it is a simple and great idea - and it works.

In the EMS world, this phenomenon is known as the "Frequent Flyer".

But the real All-Stars are those individuals who have taken two or more EMS transports by helicopter.

Of course, all of these activities will be fully funded by the taxpayer.
If you need to be airlifted to the Emergency Room more then once you either are very clumsy, have terrible luck, or someone is actively trying to kill you.

nice pic from job.

Once again an occupied building is put in danger because of the city's refusal to arrest and prosecute squatters. Now of course there will be a major investigation because one of them is dead. Get them out, take down the vacant building and problem ends.

Thats a shitty thing to say about a person who just died in a fire. Regardless of circumstances.

Its a shame somebody was killed and the way I typed it wasn't meant to say I think its good. My point really was why does it need to get to that point before they take action. It could have been an FDNY member as easy as a squatter. They did a great job of not having it spread to the adjacent building and possibly be worse. I apologize for the bad wording there.
