I thought E319 used to be in the mix on this Box - unavailable or Barb?
BARB. from 4th due

I see they’re on the 3rd now
Gene... back in the day when 277 was at 222,
319 was 4th due on the 1st up to Forest Ave.
When 277 went back to Knickerbocker 319 was 1st due on the 2nd Alarm. Now l just read they were on 3rd. All the Brooklyn engines come up into Queens when BARB started even though 319 is the next closest Queens engines after 286. It's a possibility they were in a another run when the 2nd hit.

Box Area Automated Run-card Builder (BARB), which is the tool that automatically builds the static run cards using road and network based running routes from every firehouse in the City to a specific alarm Box/street address

It is amazing in the dense parts of the city how little time separates multiple alarm engine companies. While I understand Google Maps isn't a perfect mapping instrument, I think this gives a general sense of slim the differences are. Here are the projected response times for engines (other than special assignments) on the box per Google maps:

E291- 9 min
E286- 7 min
E277- 10 min
E271- 9 min
E222- 15 min
SQ252- 10 min

E218- 15 min
E233- 13 min
E206- 13 min
E237- 14 min

E319- 12 min (only 319 was coming from their own quarters on the 3rd).

Additional units that didn't respond:
SQ288- 14 min
E332- 16 min
E236- 17 min
E292- 18 min
E293- 19 min
E287- 19 min

It also speaks to the amazing level of resources in the FDNY - not many departments could field 13+ engines in 15-ish minutes, and close to 20 engines in 20 minutes.

They should have been 1st due on the 3rd of the acting engines were not assigned

This area of Upper Ridgewood is a very rough area for most Queens company's that are assigned to these boxes. Other than286/ 135 In Glendale and 291 / 140 in Ridgewood the next closest company is
319 in Middle Village. Its basically astraight run for 319 80 St to Copper Ave right on Copper Ave into Central Ave to Fresh Pond Rd. After 319 all other Queens engines and trucks have a haul. 293 from Woodhaven, 294 & 143 from Richmond, 287 & 136 from Elmhurst, 305 & 151 from Forest Hills, 292 from Winfield and 325 & 163 from Woodside.
