Fire on the 1st floor of a 5 story 75x100 MD.

1156 - E-58 - Take us off of the box, we have fire pushing from a manhole in front of our quarters.

1157 - Bn. 11 - Urgent - Transmit the 10-75.

1202 - Bn. 11 - 1 L/S/O, searches in progress.  Fire is in Apt. 1H.  All Hands

1207 - Div. 3 - Primaries throughout are negative.  Under Control - Duration 13 minutes.

I spent the first 18 years of my life next door in 425 CPW.  My folks both lived in that apartment building for over 45 years.  Never saw or heard of any thing more than a 10-26 in either building.

I don't ever recall seeing E53 and L43 respond to our home box. It was usually E37 and T40 responding when other units where unavailable.
