Fire in the basement of a 3 story 25x60 subway vent (emergency exit) building.

1328 - Bn. 32 - Transmit the 10-75. We have fire in the stairwell of the subway system.

1330 - Bn. 32 - All Hands - Fire in the basement of the vacant subway vent building.

That's the brownstone that the IRT bought over 100 years ago to use as an emergency subway exit and ventilation shaft.
It blends well with the other houses on the block.

E207 should be 3rd Due and L118 should be First Due. Building is disguised as a brownstone...looks like a MD to fit the area... windows are blacked out. As stated it is a subway emergency exit to the street for the 4/5 line.

There was another response to Brooklyn Boro hall train station for the odor, while units were investigating, other units were sent to the vent building. 207, 101, 32 were first due. I also think it was about 10-15 mins after they arrived the 10-75 was transmitted.

Responding units were not sure of the source of the smoke. Initially thought it was venting smoke from the Bowling Green station in MAN. Eventually found the fire in the basement.
